Pre- and Post-Treatment Instructions

Proper preparation and aftercare are essential to support a smooth treatment experience and effective healing. Please review the instructions below to ensure you’re fully prepared for your appointment and understand how to care for yourself after treatment.

Pre-Treatment Instructions

Preparing for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)

-Avoid wearing perfumes, lotions, or deodorants, as certain products may interfere with the therapy.

-Wear comfortable, cotton clothing provided by our clinic, and remove any jewelry or metallic items.

-Refrain from smoking or using tobacco products, as these can reduce the effectiveness of the treatment.

Preparing for Wound Debridement

-Clean the wound area gently the day before your procedure, following any specific instructions provided by your care team.

-Avoid using any lotions, creams, or oils on the wound area before the appointment.

-Discuss any medications with your provider, especially blood thinners, as these may affect the procedure.

Post-Treatment Instructions

After Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)

-Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and support the body’s healing response.

-Avoid strenuous activity immediately after treatment, as some patients experience mild fatigue.

-Follow any additional instructions from your care team regarding wound care or ongoing therapy.

After Wound Debridement

Keep the wound clean and covered as instructed, changing the dressing daily or as advised by your provider.

Avoid picking at or scratching the wound, as this can disrupt healing.

Monitor for any signs of infection, such as increased redness, swelling, or discharge, and contact our clinic if you experience any concerns.
